Chalk Adventure Photodump #3:
Alright, I’m finally clearing out one of my project folders! About fucking time!
The last handful of shots from the chalk installation on College Road at the Ohio State University. Most of the notes on these drawings have been made in the last two posts, but I suppose the shipping wall shots help demonstrate the giant fucking size of the wall we did, it took ages to finish up.
The bottom left shot isn’t actually one of ours, it was my favorite message left by someone else. Yes, that’s the chorus of “What’s Going On.” Yes, I did sing the entire song when I saw this scribble. Yes, I was filled with pride in my school at the sight of this scribble.
The bottom right shot is a note that I hid in the structure of the roof. There was a huge ladder thing that could move around, and if you were stupid enough, you could stand on the very top and write on parts of the rafters. The notes people left up there seemed so sweet, so sentimental. Some talked about love, some talked about friendship, some talked about God. I wanted to leave something, but I didn’t have any rad thoughts at the time. But I had remembered seeing a sticker with “You are beautiful” on it hidden away somewhere on campus and smiling when I saw it, so I decided to toss that up there, where only the craziest sonsofbitches who climb that ladder, chalk in one hand, phone in the other, narrowly balancing as they intertwine themselves into the metal, can find it.
All in all, I’d say this adventure was a pretty fucking successful one. Afterwards we got coffee and wrote our novels and did homework and it was a perfect day.

I was just thinking about how weird it was that Jenna and I weren’t having regularly scheduled hangouts, and happened upon my projects folder, which had a folder entitled “Chalk Shit.”
And I was like, “oh, right, I had to post those eventually.”
So, to recap, Jenna and I decided to go on this adventure to an art installation where they have you draw on everything with chalk, and it was tons of fun. We made a shipping wall, a bunch of Homestuck jokes and some Doctor Who stuff, and we looked at all the stuff left by others, as well.
There was everything in that little chalk room: people proclaiming the loss of their virginity from the metaphorical “rooftops,” people bashing on Michigan, people expressive love for one another, people advertising their clubs, bands, and cocks. Anything and everything was in this little chalkboard installation, and it was awesome.

There’s this place on campus where it’s this art installation that people are encouraged to draw on. The installation is supposed to provide chalk, but they didn’t have any.
Luckily, Jenna and I were planning on spending out morning/afternoon drawing on the Oval anyways, so we had sidewalk chalk.
We drew all sorts of shit, from tiny doodles to Homestuck jokes. We ended up doing a full shipping wall, I drew a TARDIS and awful Gamzee, we made a few 4chords jokes on the walls. In the spirit of half the bloody drawings in the place, I wrote that I liked Trista because fuck the police.
Also BAD WOLF.
