So, with the new Facebook timeline in place, I decided this was a decent time to start my planned FB cleanup. I started with groups and moved on to my bloated inbox, where I discovered a hoarde of non-spam messages from real people, some were people asking about whether I was the guy they had met at a party or at the market or whatever, and they were all done so long ago that it wasn’t worth responding, but then I stumbled upon this message:

Well, shit, yeah I’ll help your kid out! I absolutely adore that play and I think it’s neat that I’m a major find in the search bar, especially after my Facebook based modern retelling of Earnest for my Brit Lit class a few years ago and I really hope your kid is oka—

FUCK.

Ashby “Up Until 2 In The Fucking Morning Downloading New Minecraft Maps to Play Until He Passes Out” Daugherty
I seriously just snagged like 30 new maps to play because I found a couple of blogs that did reviews of survival and adventure maps so here’s to never sleeping again.

So this happened while I was level grinding in Purified Zone 3 and I was so fucking uncomfortable.
Like man, the white backgrounds and no music and eerie nothingness was bad enough, but then to suddenly get hit with color was really off-putting and this screenshot still manages to make me uncomfortable.
I’ve installed the carrot and potato farms, hoping to get a decent yield soon so I can fill out the beds.
Wheat is doing magnificently, but still not making me a whole lot of money.
I’ve converted the animal sheds into temporary mushroom farms so I can do trades with the sprite under the tool shed and get some extra carrots and potatoes.
I installed extra blocks above the tree beds to keep them from growing into big oaks as ain’t nobody got time for that nonsense.
My big change is the house: I’m doing a dirt sketch in the top left of my planned layout and such. I’m not sure what will be going in each room, but I know there will be two floors and a root cellar. This sketch is the current F1 plan.
The area in the top right will probably become a melon and pumpkin bed, and I’ll be installing three extra sheds into my farm that will lead to a mushroom farm, an automatic sugar cane farm and an automatic cactus farm.
So, while waiting for the next version of Farming Platform, which is due to come out like within this week or the next, I went around looking for other farming/economy based maps.
Harvest, a map that tries to recreate the experience of Harvest Moon SNES, was the only one that looked pretty solid. Having never played a Harvest Moon game, I figured it’d be a decent time killer.
I started around 2-3 this afternoon and played between chores and stuff and here’s my farm progress thus far. I’m not making a whole lot of money just yet, unfortunately, but it’s starting to stack up a bit. There’s also a mine to work in, a city to trade in, and a fishing pond, along with other stuff, but I tried to limit myself to the farm itself in preparation for Platform 4.0. Just having all this dirt feels like I’m cheating or something, haha.
My next plan is to add in Carrots and Potatoes, followed by Melons and Pumpkins. I’ll then expand my house (the top left building) to fit into that extra space, give it a second floor and some nice comfort items, and then I’ll start on a mushroom farming basement and hopefully have enough cash to start picking up an animal or two.
My final goal is to build a nearly automatic farming system within the farm plot and get it to the point where I just have free money rolling in to trade for high tier goodies.
I’ll keep posting screencaps of this one, I like the progress I’m making.

this is the best tweet that anyone has ever made, or ever will make.

So this happened in the chat last night
I accidentally learned how to screencast in google hangout oops
Also this is when my browser crashed really hard and we were watching fucking gimme pizza (slow) and everyone was using the stupid special effects it was great
Why the fuck did Becca have a cake what even

No, but in all seriousness, habitrpg has been working as a solid to-do list app for me, as I can just tack things onto the todo area as needed and get bonuses for doing them and lose HP for not doing them
My dailies are practicing my current instruments (because I try to do at least one on a daily basis) and to take my meds because sometimes I forget (and tbh, antidepressants are kind of like powerups, so why not get an RPG reward for them anyway, right?)
My habits are directed toward getting my music blog up and running again, getting shit done for work and school, and remembering that I have a really great handheld system and I ought to be playing it once in a while.
I’ve only been playing for a few days but I like it a lot and will totally be adding and removing things as I figure out what works best for me and maybe even remember to add some non-gaming rewards eventually.
So, on that note, does anyone have suggestions for good habits/dailies/rewards to add?

I needed a new desktop photo and I couldn’t find anything I liked and it was driving me mad, so here’s my current setup with a hastily tossed together placeholder desktop of myself and I’m slowly finding myself actually liking it
